In the July 22nd edition of Figure Four Online, Bryan Alvarez and Lance Storm talk about episode 9 of World of Hurt. This episode’s main focus is our girl, Tenille! Here is a transcript of what Bryan and Lance had to say:
Bryan Alvarez: Going back to World of Hurt here, the Tenille episode that I just watched, you mentioned this was your favorite episode and I concluded it was just because she was half naked at the beginning of it.
Lance Storm: I’m surprised, then again maybe you just never really thought about it. I think if you put some thought into it you’d probably realize why it is my favorite knowing me. This was the only episode where someone showed up, had a problem, we actually worked on improving it, she got better at it and she kinda succeeded at the end. It was like the only episode that was actually consistent throughout and actually accomplished anything.
LS: And part of it was that Tenille’s was one of the only episodes that right from the beginning we had a plan, like that’s why she was in gear rather than just the sweats and the World of Hurt t-shirt everybody else had. Right from the get go it was going to be the girl that was just riding on her looks. The girl that was just riding on her looks. So we actually knew where we were going and actually sort of, for the most part, had a game plan. … Where Tenille’s [episode] was actually – she showed up, she needed to improve something, so we worked on that, she got better at it, she succeeded at the end and she can move on. And the fact that she actually moved on and got offered a developmental deal kinda even ties in all better that seems like a nice story. This girl was pretty good. She came to Lance’s school, he pointed a few things out she needed to improve, she did and hey, now she’s making it.
BA: For my entire life as a wrestling fan, I like great wrestling, but at the same time I also I want it to be fun and wacky. The T-Bone episode, so far that has been my favorite episode… It was a best of all worlds, that episode to me. This one here, I mean yes, for a trainer it’s probably a great episode. You know, this one’s exactly…this is an episode that perhaps you should show to perspective students when they ask, “What’s the Storm Wrestling Academy like?” you know? You show ’em that. You go here’s a girl and she had a problem, we worked on it, ended up working out great. She got a deal out of it. Take a look at this! Tell me if you want to sign up. That’s a great episode to use for that purpose.
[Bryan and Lance go on to discuss the T-Bone episode. Bryan says he loves it because it was wacky and made him laugh. Lance said that a lot of what happened in that episode was taken out of context, for example his comments that were made to appear to be about T-Bone’s babyface promo was directed at someone completely different.]
LS: Tenille’s [episode] was far more true to what actually happened to a large extent.
